How can I calculate income from bonds investing? I buy a bond now and that bond was issued on 03/15/2007, so the last coupon payment was on 09/15/2008 and the next one is on 03/15/2009 when the bond matures. My question is do I receive the whole coupon payment on 03/15/2009 and the principle also? Than you!

Income from investing in Stock Options? Are there any investors who invest in stock options that have created an extra income for themselves? There is a difference between INVESTING and Working for a Living (paycheck). I have been investing in LONG CALL optrions recently. Opened an account with a deep discount brokerage-only $5.00 per trade.. I found one stock-an ETF INDEX option that seems to be working in my favor. Since most foreig market INDEXES seem to move in an upward trend i feel comfortalbe with it. It is the iShares MSCDI CANADA ETF. I have bought and sold it 2 times at a profit each time. It returned more than 50% each trade in 2 months. The discounted broker commission helps me keep more profit to. But again, is it possible to create a second income by trading LONG CALL stock options? Thanks
Do low income individuals invest in the financial markets? Do low income individuals or those who are in the lowest tax brackets (those making less than $30,000 a year) invest in financial markets such as stocks and bonds? What is the minimum amount individuals are making a year before they actually do invest, if $30k a year is too low? Thanks
if a company has a history of declining income should I invest? I am thinking about investing into a company that's in it's IPO stage. I checked out their records and it shows a trend of declining income. The company currently has 231 share holders and has no venture capital. (I was told that the CEO has invested all of his own money into the company). Is this a wise investment choice? Of course they make it souund like the potential to make a lot of money is very high. It's an internet company and it already has the website in existence.

Can I earn supplemental income through investing? I have a few thousand dollars I can invest, but I also would rather not invest in anything too risky as I don't want to lose much. I am hoping to supplement my regular income by possibly a couple hundred dollars a month. Is this possible? How would I go about doing this? I already have small investments in mutual funds and stocks and a savings account. My savings account earns me about $20 a month through interest. I need to earn an extra $200 or so to help pay my bills. Any advise? I did actually just read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and have done some preliminary investing. I don't have much to spare at the moment though. I have a few thousand (around $3k) Id be willing to invest. I'm 26, want to start saving for retirement (I started a Roth IRA and I have a 401k at work) and also would like to buy a house at some point in the next few years. Right now though, I could use some extra income as my job doesn't pay that well, though I really enjoy it and don't want to leave ...

How to invest for Income at 61? I have a friend who is 61, she has about 30K to invest and will eventualy sell her primary residence and down size. That will free up about 150 to 200 thousand for her to invest. She will need these funds to generate income for living expenses. I am wondering what is the best option for her? 1. CDs 2. Mutual Funds 3. Bonds 4. Immediate Annuity 5. Dividend producing blue chips (WMT, GE, MSFT, BAC, et..) Should it be a combination of the above. I am wondering if I should manage funds for her or should I perhaps point her toward a professional investment firm to manage her money such as Raymond James or Charles Swab? Advice is appreciated, thank you.
Is it best to invest for income or growth ? Given a imaginary lump sum - say £200k - if you choose to invest in unit trusts over the long term and want to live off what it could produce. Would you be better investing in income trusts and taking the income or investing all in growth and selling lumps as its needed (and maybe when the market is high).
What would be the best way to invest a million dollars for both income and long term growth? Let's say you won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes and got the million dollar grand prize. What would be the best way to invest it to not only produce an income for yourself, but also to make the principle grow to build a legacy for future generations. I understand the concept of diversification, but picking stocks seems kind of like a crap shoot. Taking it to a finacial advisor may be better, but they often appear to be wrong plus they charge commisions. Mutual funds seem like a good idea as long as the loads aren't too high. Tax free municiple bonds seem like an idea that is worth looking into. Any ideas are welcome. I'm not looking for professional advice (although that would be great). I'm just looking for opinions and ideas that may have worked for other people in the past. Any horror stories about disasterous investments are welcome too.

Is it not possible to the goverment of all the country of the world to come together and workout by which it will be possible to get device that can convert solar energy into electrical energy at minimum cost that will be easily available to common man.It is a million dollar question because it is international problem,so the views and opinion should be of all the people that live on this planet
Can someone explain to me again exactly how tax relief to upper tier income individuals expands our economy? I'm lost in the concept of how freeing up more money for upper income folks to invest expands our economy and creates jobs. People who invest money do so where they get the greatest returns. The greatest returns are in countries with expanding economies, like China. Why invest in America with an economy expanding at a 4% rate when you can earn 4 times as much in the Chinese economy, which is expanding at a 12% rate. Exactly how does this benefit our economy? How does giving upper income people more money to invest overseas create more jobs here? Why is it less beneficial to give the middle class, who are likely to spend their money within the USA, a tax break?
Should I invest for income or for growth? If I am a grad student in my late twenties and won't be working for a few years and have $150,000 to invest, would it be better to invest it in a portfolio designed to generate income in order to help with living expenses while im in college. Or would it be better to put $50,000 to the side for living expenses and invest $100,000 in mostly equity?
What is worthy of investing in today by a poor man whose income is not absorbed by the very rich? Seems like investment in anything is not a climbing value thing. Seems like investment actually is absorbed into never never land, paying people who make way more money per hour and year than I could ever have and promoting their leisure activities and moving their comingled funds with mine to build things that I will not live long enough to profit from even if those businesses don't reorganize to absorb my capital even if I stay?! I am just trying to figure out why a 2-4% CD would not be the best place for any money I might have? Except maybe day trading, and that you have to be very careful of! No wonder Americans are sitting on the sidelines! That and the downtick rule change last summer!
How/Where can I effectively find listings on million dollar income properties across the States? I am a absentee real estate investor interested in investing income properties in the states, in the range of $3-$10 millions. Since I am flexible on the location of the investment properties, and regional deal flow is minimal. Is there a solution where I could get my hands on sufficient deals/listings, so I could make prelimary decision/offer before I fly over to do the due diligence. Moreover, any method/clubs where brokers to contact me if they have listings of my interest. I am interested in positive cash flow (deducting management fees) properties, in or close to big cities. Residental and properties with improvement potentials are big plus. I am quite flexible on partnerships, investment size and ideas. Welcome comments apartment buildings and potential improvement are a plus.
How should I invest my income tax refund? Municipal Bonds? Stocks? I was really saddened when I found out that the economic stimulus income tax award had limitations and only paid out $600.00 per individual because I wanted to just buy a new blazer with that. However, I don't qualify for the award. But I am expecting a good sized income tax refund and would like to get some ideas of how I should invest it. I was thinking about putting the bulk of it into municipal bonds, put a few thousand into my money market account, and maybe take two or three thousand to the Bunny Ranch in northern Nevada to let the girls have their way with me. As for the latter don’t we all deserve some release from the daily grind? Well comrades how should I portion out my investments with my income tax refund?
Are income trusts a good investment? I am considering investing in income trusts. Specifically a REIT. I am concerned about the recent changes to taxation and am wondering if they are still a wise choice. I have not really followed the changes therefore require a layman's explanation. Thanks
How should I invest my income tax return? I am looking to invest my return this year, and have been looking into a few options. I plan on investing $2,000 to $3,000 and have considered 2 year Step-Rate CDs, mutual funds, and even the stock market. I also thought about an I-Bond, but I can't find a bank in my area that offers them. My goal is to start saving for a down payment on a house in a few years, so while not being TOO risky, I would like to get as much money out of my investment as possible. I am open to suggestions. Thanks.
Coming into some money and want to invest, plan, gain income.? We experienced an insurance loss and are coming into around 100K. We own a property on the waterfront as well, (just land) 100-150k aprox worth in middle market. I don't just want to burn through this money. I would like to invest it into stocks that pay enough dividends to live on, if that is possible. I'm only 33, I do not want to own another home. I am happy renting an apartment or living on my boat. We don't have kids and do not plan to ever venture in that direction. I researched some financial planners but they seem like a party for old folks with great wealth and I just have this measly 100k. What should I do? How can I turn this into income?
401k vs income property? Should I take money out of my 401k plan to invest in income property. I would need the money to meet the down payment requirements.
