Does anyone have any knowledge or advice on Roatan Island, Hoduras Real Estate Investing?
I am starting to invest in central american real estate and have currently begun to hear about Roatan Island. Does anyone have any feedback regarding real estate there or the various areas, Even opinions of anyone with knowledge of the island would be helpful. thanks

- Roatan, Honduras you need the advice and support of a Honduran attorney. And that is if it is possible at all, which it may not be. [Foreigners are not permitted to purchase property just anywhere in Honduras, but only within certain areas.] A close friend of ours bought property in La Cieba. He thought he had competent legal advice when he did it. Some six years later, two trips to court over two different issues, and over ten thousand US in legal costs to a different Honduran attorney he began to build his house there. If you are not personally familiar with the social situation in Honduras, especially with regard to foreigners, you'll be shocked. One house under contruction just down the way from my friend's now complete house has been looted of everything but the concrete block walls. Everything includes the roof beams, which were two stories up in the air and must have weighed over 50 kilos each. GL
