Im 16 and I just became very interested in investing. What books should I read?
I actually read Rich Dad Poor Dad but that's about it. I was hoping if someone could recommend me other books that I may be able to read during the summer so that I can understand more about the subject of investing. Thanks

- "Security Analysis" is a great place to start. Very technical information about value investing. I'd definately start with this.
- A little intense, but "the intelligent investor" by Benjamin Graham is a classic revered by investors like Warren Buffett. It preaches the fundamentals of Value Investing and will give you greater insight into a company's balance sheet and intrinsic value. For starters look at the "Dummy" line of books. Stocks for dummies and Investing for dummies have a lot of great information. Good luck!
- There are so many personal finance and investing books to choose from, but the first one I ever read is still my all-time favorite. It's called The Richest Man in Babylon, you can read a good review at http://www.money-and-investing.com/Money-and-Investment-b.html. It's really short, you can read this in one enjoyable afternoon. While the principles seem overly simplistic, Clason definitely covers many of the most essential principles of building wealth and investing. This will give you a great base of knowledge to build on. I think it's great that you're interested at such a young age. Best of luck to you, Odd Lot
- Avoid technical books for now. If you plan a career in this industry you need the big picture. 1) 'The real Warren Buffett' by James O'Loughlin. Easy read and puts you in the buffett mindset. 2)Col. John Boyd lectures. This will give you an information system that is priceless in the investment environment. Look him up on Google 3) Nick Leason biography. The investment world at the coalface. For a lighthearted read: Any of the books by Michael Ridpath DVD Other peoples money.
