Can someone tell me how to buy USA stocks? I only want to know the procedures, not "how to make money" etc.
I've been searching online for an answer, but all I got was "how to make money", "when to sell stocks", "how to invest wisely" etc. Well, I don't care about making money. All I want to know is how to convert money into stocks. - You go to a stockbroker, either at a place of business or online. ✩
- The easiest way is to establish an account with a well-known online broker. I'd suggest ETrade or TDAmeritrade http://www.tdameritrade.com You can fund the account by a online electronic transfer of funds from your bank, or by sending a check (slower). The brokerage has online forms to fill out to make this process simple. After you have some money in your account, the online web site for your broker has a form for you to enter what stock you want to buy, how many shares, and optional things like limit prices, etc. You won't receive any printed copy of the shares, but the shares will be held safely in your name by the brokerage.
- I'd go to the website of an American broker (try www.tradeking.com, www.scottrade.com, www.etrade.com). They'd probably have some information for now US citizens who wanted to set up an account. If not, you could call them. Alternately a Canadian broker might be able to purchase some US stocks. You might contact one.
