- There is a nice article on Buffet's strategies here: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/01/071801.asp Investment strategies can be separate in two classes: - fundamental, which looks at the company itself. There are sub-classes like growth (pick companies with consistent growth) and value (pick companies that are manifestly undervalued, this is Buffet's idea) - technical, which assumes that everything that there is to know about a company is reflected in the price and volume graphs. Here the strategies are threefold: trendfollowers (pick stocks that go up and ride the wave), resistance and support (buy stock close to a support line and sell close to a resistance) and contrarian (buy sound stocks oversold by the market). All sorts of combinations are possible, of course. Furthermore, one might hedge part of the trade (buy a stock, sell the market), etc, etc.
