What do you think of the "Dogs of the Dow" investing strategy?

1. When it was first developed it was a good strategy. But it has the same problem of any strategy. As more people learn begin to follow it, it loses its advantage. Today too many people know of the "dog" strategy and are finding ways to get an advantage. The resulting buying and selling causes the original "dog" strategy to under-perform. In it's original form I don't believe it is still a market beating strategy. The new variations are may be better. But I think it would be better to come up with your own strategy.
2. The Dogs of the Dow have a good track record, I think it been good 15 out of the last 17 years. Some have expanded to the Pups of the Dow, after selecting from 10 you narrow to 5 You can check it on the web site http://www.dowunderdogs.com or just Google it. Good luck
