I want to know how you find stocks to invest in? Do you watch CNBC, do you use filters on other websites?

Do you invest in small cap unknown companies or large cap?

  1. There are tons of different stock picking strategies. I would check out value investing, growth investing. Also, some people invest in entire sectors of the economy rather than single stocks. Low cost mutual funds called ETF's (Exchange Traded Funds) are great ways to immediately diversify your portfolio. Personally, the market is in a rough place right now, and, in my opinion, will continue to decline for a while. Other great resources are Investopedia and Fool.com (two of my favorites). Investopedia also has a stock market game where you can play and test your stock picking strategies in real time. Good Luck!
  2. don't go with media (whoever it is) - time constraint will not allow them to give you all. go with e-magazines (available in web site) including CNBC get everything free - they are informative and very useful
  3. I recommend using the "50% retracement rule", this will work with any stock. To learn about it, use google or pick up a book on it. http://commonsensetrading. googlepages. com
  4. I read a lot of different write-ups on stocks. The most interesting ones, I link to on my blog. If I read two or three good arguments for investing in a company, I will. http://tickernotes.com
