how to open a high yield savings account? they suggest this a/c before starting investin in stock market?

I'm 21, a student.. I wanna invest in stock market. So guide me thru real small details of how and why. Thx.

1. Check out bankrate.com for the best bank rates. For a stock market account, check out one of the on line brokers, either Ameritrade or Firstrade. They have cheap trades. If you know what you are doing, they are the cheapest, but don't give advice. Try to invest in mutual funds rather than individual stocks.
