When given the net income/profit of a corp. from its own operations, does it include the dividend income?
Net income is now known as profit in the income statement in compliance with the new standard. GRANTING that the corp. by nature is MERCHANDISING. Is the dividend income already included in that profit from the own operations of the business? Does the operations of the business include Investing, Operating and Financing Activities or does it solely refer to Operating Activities? Does the operations of a merchandising corp. also includes it investing activities?

- AFAIK, dividend income from investment is non-operating revenue and is included in the calculation of net income.
