Investing Safely for Income - Need Estimates?
How much money do you think you would need to invest safely and within reason in anything (Currencies, Stocks, Bonds, Options, etc) to generate a yearly income of around $150,000+ per year?

- Stock market Estimate: $2,000,000 - $7,500,000 For blue chips listed on the Dow you'd be aiming for $2m USD for dividend income. At least you can build this progressively over time adding to your portfolio. In the stock market understand this (VERY IMPORTANT): - Income: your main focus is on dividend yields - Capital growth: your main focus is share price movement. To safely get dividend income in the stock market: - Avoid leverage such as CFD's or a margin loan. The interest cost may offset your dividend yields - Find stable profiting blue chip stocks that maintained or improved their dividends over the past 5 years (eg Coke, IBM etc) I recommend a program called HUBB Value Gain. It will show you dividend yields, column graphs of dividends a company has paid over the last 5 years, Earnings etc.
- $5 million at 3% is $150,000 annual income before taxes. Currencies, Stocks, Bonds, Options, etc are not "safe" investments. If you want safety you want CD's or Treasuries.
