How should I know the basics to invest in the indian stock market ?

Hi....im kabir from hyderabad in india.Im a student and really intrested in the stock market...From should i get the basic knowledge about this investments and are there any books that can teach me how to inevst ??? im a science student....

1. Start with something simple like "Trading for dummies," to get an idea of the different ways of investing. Some people invest for short term, to make a quick profit. Others invest long to build wealth. For long term, which seems to be wiser, read... I think its called the little book of Common Sense Investing. Learn about Warren Buffet while you're at it. And if you're interested in Indian stocks, you can invest in them via the American stock exchange. For example I know you can buy TATA motors stock and some other companies.
2. join trading forums, read good books on investing, read blogs. All these could help you to know the basics in investing. Read Market Talk sessions, you can understand about markets as well
3. if you are serious to invest, you can google for HSFX Asset Management and start making consistent monthly!
