Can investing bring as much money as a small business can?
By investing I meant several types of investment vehicles....commodities, bonds, stocks, cds. I'm 16 and I have $11,000 on hand.....and I would love it bring in money for me alongside my monthly income of $1,400 I get from my job.......working 30 hours a week.

- Investing can make more if, you have inside information that no one knows you have, on some penny stocks. Let's say a company trading stock at .015 a share and you drop 5k on that company. Then that company comes up with a cure for getting fat from eating too much, and it's stock rises to $100 or more a share. You've done it! Otherwise, starting your own business, as long as it's something new and fresh or something that is really needed in your area, is the way to go. Nothing beats being your own boss and being successful at it!
- Hey You should read some Robert Kiyosakis books. In these books he explains the rich get rich because they start business first then use the cashflow from there businesses to put into investments, such as real estate and commodities, but they mostly invest in real estate because it is a more secure investment to sustain there wealth. It is Very hard to get wealthy from using your JOB as cash flow for your investments because you are using after tax dollars to invest, but with having a business as well as investing you use pre tax dollars to invest with, so you have more cash flow, this is how they keep getting richer and pay less tax than people with a JOB, also the tax laws a written for the rich so that's how they do it. In saying that you can use your JOB to invest with but it takes alot longer to become wealthy... like 60.... i don't know about you i want to be wealthy at 30... not 60 ... This example is very basic... you really need to start educating yourself on this subject and only Take advice from people with the result you want so the answer to your question is... You need all 3 types of investments to become wealthy Business Real estate Paper assets BUT it all starts with a business (for cash flow)
