  1. I would always prefer stocks over bonds, because the upside is much bigger. Still, I do have a few bonds, to keep my investments a little more "secure". All the money on top of the base level gets invested into carefully chosen stocks.
  2. I would choose stocks, normally I find a well established company that hurting and in the process restructuring. Now I buying Ford Motor Company. Most of my investing is in FOREX.
  3. I prefer stocks. I think the up side potential is much better and I am willing to take the risk. I like to look at what I see around me and make judgements based on that. For example, several years ago I went to a Know Lumber store (Cashwise lumber) for some tools just before X-Mas. I drove past a Menards. The Menards was packed, the Knox Lumber was just about empty, I knew they wouldn't be around for long and they went into bankrupcy that spring. See? And is Walmart ever empty?
  4. try various praportion depending on risk tolarance and age time for monitering etc
  5. i'm 27m, no kid. my risk tolerance is very high so i'd choose something like stemcell and very few alternative energy stocks. bond is safe but can barely keep up with inflations.
