Try read the book by Alexander Elder, Come into My Trading Room I read that the first time I try to enter the stock trading world, very good for beginner, since it gives you a lot of knowledge about the many investing opportunity (and of course, the positives and negatives) and also a lot about how to trade stocks itself
2. Technical analysis is the most reliable way to pick investments and time trade entries. There is a huge amount of information online. It can also be very useful to join a trading community where you can discuss trading and strategies with other traders.
