hello everyone i live in the chicagoland area interested in basic investing does anyone have any advice on any mutual funds or cds or high intested savings accounts

- Mutual funds: check out Vanguard they have the lowest fees and yet have some of the most respected funds around. savings accounts: emigrantdirect.com = 5.05% apr! etrade and hsbc also have one of these high interest savings accounts. Since you are just getting started, a good place to look online for investing knowledge is http://www.fool.com despite the funny url, it teaches very very sound investment advice that you can't really go wrong on.
