Good Book to read for Stock and Mutal Fund investing?

Am looking for a decent book to get me started on buying/selling of stocks, bonds and mutual fund investing. I really don't have much experience in investing (apart from what I read in business magazines). I have so extra money in my savings that I want to invest, but would love to gain more experience before I throw the money down the drain. So please recommend any books you have read that would help a novice for investing. THANKS!

  1. this is the question I had in mind...
  2. I would recommend the books written by Suze Orman. She's down to earth and doesn't get overly technical. Suze has her own tv show, writes for Oprah Magazine, and has written several books. Check your library for titles by her and you can check her website below:
  3. The Golden Fleece by Walter Stewart

  6. Best book I ever read on funds was "Common Sense on Mutual Funds" by John C. Boagle You will find these in some larger libraries (332.xxxx, etc.) Good book on Stocks is "Stocks for the Long Run" which gives you a history of the US, etc. Stock & Bond markets, covers risk/rewards, etc.(332.xxxx, etc.) Another good book is "Random Walk Down Wall Street" (332.xxxx)
