To get income w/ ur $,is it best 2put $ in tax free bonds at4.5%,or do something else,like invest in Utilities

Whats the best way to get more income bc the first is tax free, but investing u get more. Is there a y other option. Whats the best place tro invest ur money so u can get income back for RETIERMENT?

  1. A lot of private equity funds return 20%-30% plus. Private equity real estate funds are good and energy related private equity funds, master limited partnerships and income trusts do, and will continue to, produce great yields. Or you could be a little more active and purchase income producing real estate. Even with a 10% CAP rate on the property, with your ability to use leverage to purchase the asset, you can generate 25%+ Yields in addition to significant equity in the asset. If your not getting 20%+ returns on your money you can do better.
  2. Bonds at 4.5% are least risky, Stocks and mutual funds get about 8-10% per year, but risk of losing principal. The other gentleman's answer is the most riskiest because you can lose it all. This year so far hedge funds have lost money, while the S&P 500 is up 9%. Some hedge funds have gone completely bankrupt and investors lost all their money.
