HSBC Investments launches Emerging Markets Fund Tuesday, January 22, 2008 20:46 [IST] New Delhi: HSBC Investments today launched an open-ended Emerging Markets Fund that seeks to provide long-term capital growth by investing in emerging economies across the world. Besides investment in India, the fund may park money in China, Russia, Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico and many more, HSBC Investment said in a release. Indian investors can not only seek to capture growth opportunities outside the country but may also seek to spread risk by diversifying their investments across geographical markets instead of staying invested in one particular country, it said. The New Fund Offer with the minimum application amount of Rs 10,000 is open for subscription till February 15. The fund can invest up to 100 per cent of its assets in overseas markets, it said, adding the fund may also invest a limited proportion in domestic debt and money market instruments in case equity markets are consid

Almost every investment company has an " emerging markets" fund ( some specifically BRIC) ant there are BRIC ETF's....THEY HAVE ALL DONE WELL...and should continue...maybe at a lesser rate, but still very well. HSBC should do just as good as Fidelity, Vanguard, Dodge&Cox, etc. ...BUT...be prepared for a lot of " ups and downs"...don't panic, give it time... Good luck.
