  1. yahoo finance, msn money and investopedia are all free and online. They all contain a great wealth of knowledge. I'd recommend you start with learning everything you can from those sources first.
  2. Cramers "Real Money" is a good book for a beginner to read. he goes into depth what you need to do and the time requirments involved.
  3. I like reading cramer's books, and I think they are both fun and have good information, but I would also read some of the books about how the market works, not just how to pick stocks. The wolf of wall street is an interesting book, and so is ugly americans. They give better inside on how the market moves, along with stocks. There are reviews of them on www.novelwagon.com along with more of my favorite stock market books, like the black swan.
  4. Peter Lynch - Learn to earn is a step up from jim cramers book. It is on the same level as Cramers books but helps you understand the stock market as well as understanding stocks. Also www.TheMapleInvestor.com has some great suggestions for you under its "Media Source" section
