Financial Experts, how would you invest this money?
I am about to get a check for $9000. I have around 20k in the bank, but I want to know from any gurus out there, if you were in my boat (which is I can pat my bills no problem, own a home, have some savings, have a 401k at work, and now I am getting this money) how would you invest this? Uh, Ron, I am able to pay my bills, I'm not independently wealthy. My property taxes alone are 8k / year. I am in no position to give that money away, I have three kids whose futures are in my hands. I am trying to prepare for my future in this life, not the afterlife. ;)

- Buy some land for cheap as the real estate now is in glutter.., it will come up in the coming months
- The best investment is in yourself by way of your own business. Go with one that has little risk and lots of potential. We are currently investing in stocks and forex...but it is so rocky we decided to go with an online business. There are tons of them out there. We just sold our exsisting business (of 18yrs) so we had some cash to invest as well. This is the one we went with http://www.thousanddollarprofits.com/94218 Don't know if it is a great fit for you or not. Just go through the system and really check it out. We did listen in on a conference call last night and a guy had just cleared $12,000 in 2 weeks. You can't get that kind of return anywhere else. We are completely stoked cause we are brand new to this deal.
- From the remarks in your Q, it seems like you are in pretty fair financial shape. Have you considered giving any of that money to your favorite charity or charities? Your church/temple/mosque? Perhaps to a charity which helped a member of your family or a friend who overcame an illness or was down on his/her luck. When you give to others, it comes back - many, many times. It may not happen "overnight" - BUT IT DOES HAPPEN! Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! VTY, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name!
- It mostly depends on two details you didn't give us, which is (a) how long would the 20K last you if you needed emergency funds, and (b) how long do you intend to hold this investment? First of all, try to set aside enough of an emergency fund. $20K would probably be enough for a middle-income person, but it depends on what your mortgage payment is (if you have one) and other expenses like that. Aim for 3 months of expenses in your emergency fund. But assuming $20K is enough for emergencies: If it's for the long-term (for retirement, for example), I'd go ahead and invest it in the stock market into something relatively safe and diversified like an S&P 500 mutual fund or a total market index fund, or a target retirement date fund. The market is very volatile right now, but stock prices are mostly cheap-to-fairly-priced, which means in the LONG term you'll do quite well, as long as you don't let the volatility panic you into dumping stocks at the worst time. If you qualify for an IRA or Roth IRA in addition to your 401k, I'd put some of the money into that as an investment vehicle. If it's only intended for a medium or short term investment -- for example, if you are intending to use it to buy a bigger house in a couple of years -- then you should probably stick it into something like a money market fund, CDs, or the like.
- Work for yourself online as a full time job. Use the money you have to tie you over until the business makes profit. There are those that you will come across that will tell you that “It’s all rubbish! You can’t make money online, it’s all a big scam…” What they are actually doing is venting their own bitterness at not being able to do it themselves. So don’t listen to them! On The other hand there will be those that say, “Yeh, I made thousands of dollars in my first month. All you have to do is sign up and you make millions…” What they are doing is trying to get you to hand over your money by using false crappy promises. Stay even further away from them!! There are however means to make serious income online but it requires work. You must treat your online business as it is, A BUSINESS. How many self made millionaires do you see who didn’t work to get to where they are?…That’s right NONE! You must put in a consistent effort, and if you do you will see success come your way. The biggest difference with online marketing is that you don’t need to spend years in business school in order to be successful. Just a solid system with a strong foundation is all you need. And I happen to have one :-) A free one in fact. Just go to the site (given below) and you will have found the very thing you need to make a life changing income online. But please remember. This is not a get rich quick thing, so if that’s what you’re trying to get then please wake up. I don’t want to discourage you but you must understand that in order to truly be successful you just need to put in the effort. Go have a look for yourself and see if it’s something that you can make work for you. I will always be on hand to guide you whenever you need me. You will get my email address when you sign up to the program (for whatever reason Yahoo doesn’t like me putting my hotmail address in here). Link is below. Have a Great Day, Lee Roshan-Nahad
