How Do you get started in investing?

I know nothing about investing, but I am tired of being poor. I don't even know the basics. I don't know what is to buy high or sell low or whatever it is. Where can I find a professional to teach me or is there a way to teach myself? Thanks

  1. If you are new to the stock market, some research is necessary to be done on your part. The following tutorials might be helpful to you: http://ezinearticles.com/?Stock-Investing-for-a-Beginner&id=828865 http://ezinearticles.com/?Things-to-Know-Before-Investing-In-Stock-Market&id=866386
  2. There are plenty of online tutorials out there - MSN, MORNINGSTAR, CNNMONEY, etc. Just do a little digging on their sites. Otherwise go to the library or book store - the business/finance section. They have books on stocks, bonds, mutual funds, asset allocation, and so on. Try Investing for Dummies by Eric Tyson (I have this).
