Lux Investing

I am interested in online investing. What sites do you recommend for a beginner? Sharebuilder, E-trade, etc.?

  1. Don't buy stocks--buy index mutual funds. Vanguard group is a good place to start--one of the biggest no load funds in the country--good reputation.
  2. They are all similar. TD Ameritrade and Scottrade etc... Schwab and Fidelity are the cost efficient brokerages where you can do most of the work yourself with experts answering questions. I have worked with all and feel that www.fidelity.com is the best option with the most choices for investors. Good tools and supporting information abound with Fido. Happy Trading!
  3. foliofn.com hands down
  4. As far as brokers are concerned; Schwab & Fidelity have the most research and "live" help available to the newbie. Don't invest in anything you don't understand. Develope an "asset allocation" for yourself. Always use position sizing. Always have an exit strategy before you buy anything. Remember: Money Management is more important than what stock or fund you buy!
