Inherited money, wants to invest, but dont know how?

I inherited some money from my grandparents and its quite a lot, so i was thinking of stock market. Im not in any rush, and for now i dont want to think of real estate, how can i learn how to invest in stock market? any good books for dummies like me? any good website? any advice? thanks!

  1. Wait for the new low to hit in Feb because the market should rally for months because of the Obama hype. Buy PBR (if oil is below $30) and KGC (only if gold gets close to $600). Oh yea, there is going to be a crash starting Mid 2009.
  2. "Investing For Dummies" is a good starter book.
  3. Amounts matter. If it is more than a couple of hundred thousand, go hire a financial planner. If less than $50k, buy a couple of good mutual funds.
  4. The group The Motley Fool ( i don't work for them) writes online at www.fool.com. They are in the Tribune newspapers on Saturday and Sunday..
